March 6 - March 12, Giant is dipping its toe in the coupon doubling specials pool.Although it recently enacted its "all coupons up to $0.99 doubled every day" policy, this week's ad had an intruiguing little extra: Four coupons that must be presented in addition to your manufacturer's coupons for them to double - for individual values of up to $1.00, thus $2.00 total savings per coupon. But: I'm betting that if you did a transaction with a mixed value set of coupons, these special in-ad coupons might double the lowest values - it's hard for me to tell since this week I'm reading the online version of the ad and it won't allow me to enlarge the fine print. (Sigh) Giant, you're such a tease!
Here's my advice: If you have a little more than 4 great coupons that make stuff at Giant free or very close to free, try to snag some extra ads - from your neighbors, in-store, etc. - and make separate transactions/trips. Don't break a sweat over this deal though: remember that Shopper's Food Warehouse and Bloom have their coupon doubling and tripling deals at least once a month, and are far less restrictive, so it's very probably worth your time and brain power to wait and do the larger trips at these other stores.
Nevertheless, we will alert you to any worthwhile Giant doubled-coupon deals that we encounter in cyperspace! ;o)
