Shopper's Food Warehouse April Double/Triple Coupon Matchups, 04/16-04/22

Gina (and an email tipster Sheryl) recently told us that her Shopper's Food Warehouse ad is advertising a doubling and tripling coupons round for this weekend. Thanks, ladies! Wow, that came fast after double-only coupons at Shopper's just two weeks ago! Woe is me - my Shopper's ad has no mention at all of double or triple coupons - so I may be tempted to trek to a participating store if the deals prove good enough.

Since this is a selective participation thing, let's start with this list of participating stores. Since the new Shopper's ad does not get posted until tomorrow morning, feel free to comment to let us know if your ad does or does not mention this special, so we can edit this post's below list of locations that are or are not participating.

Participating Stores:

Virginia:
Burke
Fairfax
Chantilly
Manassas
Sterling
Herndon
Leesburg
Gainesville
Centreville

Maryland:
Aspen Hill
Germantown
White Flint

We will start matchups with the ad here, assuming that even the nonparticipating ad's sale prices are the same. If you find a great deal, post a comment and we will add it to the growing list! Be sure to check back at this post to see what deals have been added over time.

Coupons up to $0.50 in value triple, while coupons $0.51-$1.00 double - unlimited coupons. This deal is good starting tomorrow, Thursday 04/16, through next Wednesday, 04/22.

Some choice additional deals from last doubling session's matchups list two weeks ago:

Bounty paper towels single roll were 10/$10 last time - the $1/1 in the 4/5 P&G, doubled makes them very cheap or free, if the price still applies.

No Nonsense socks free with last weekend's $1/1 doubled (they have some socks that are $1.99 or $1.79). ** BUT note that you can get No Nonsense pantyhose at WalMart priced at $1 (so FREE), and the pantyhose have a $1 off coupon in the packaging...so...you're probably better off rolling free pantyhose, unless you really, really need socks. Thanks, A Thrifty Mom, for the WalMart tip!

Starkist Seasons bowls are on sale for $1.99 - free after $1/1 Q

Starkist Pouches are $2.09 or $2.19 - doubled $1/1 Q makes them almost free, AND, you can use the B2G1 Free Q to get another one free for every 2 you buy

Success Rice is $2.19 - $0.19 after $1/1 doubled

Quaker Rice Snacks are $1.99, ergo FREE after last weekend's $1/1 doubles

Nature's sweet cherry tomatoes $1.98 ea., use $1/2 for 2 bags less than $2

Air Wick Aqua Essences air freshner spray - $1.49, but after $1/1 = FREE

Lipton Tea Bags (16 ct) - $0.98 each used $1/2 = FREE

This contribution comes from Laura of Blessings in Bargains. Talk about eagle-eyed!

"I also found peelies on some of the Poptarts for $1/1 ... so, since they were priced at $2, they were FREE after coupon..." (emphasis on 'free' and text coloring ours...lol)

Hershey 3.5 oz Bars Dark Chocolate, $1.69, FREE after $1 coupon

GUM Crayola Style kids' toothbrushes 2-packs, $1.50, FREE after $0.75 coupon

Yoplait YoPlus yogurt 4 pack $2 - $1 off = FREE

Over the Moon Milk, 1% or Skim, half gallon - $3.49 before $1 03/08 SS coupon, after: $1.49 (compare with regular half gallon of either, $1.99, or $3.49 for a whole gallon of regular milk!)

O-Cello scrub pads, single pack, $1.29, but $0.29 after $1/2 coupon from 03/08 SS doubles

FruitSense drinks (by the juice), 2/$5, just $0.50 each after $1 coupon. Flavors like blueberry pomogranate mangosteen, lime colada, and cranberry raspberry.

Del Monte No Salt Added Diced Tomatoes $1.33 - $1 off 2 = $.66 for 2, $0.33 each

Land O'Lakes eggs are $2.79/doz. There is a $0.50 or a $0.55 coupon from the 02/22 SS that makes them $1.79 or $1.69/doz.

Reader Anna alerted us to some (as Posh would say): may-jah steals. Thanks so much, Anna, for the heads-up!

Oikos Greek-style yogurt 5.3 oz. cups, $2 - $1 coupon in Sunday 4/4's paper insert=FREE

Daisy Sour Cream 8 oz. 3/$4 - .60 coupon from Sunday 4/4 insert = 0.13

Thai Kitchen Instant Rice Noodle Soup from $.89 to .95 - .50 coupon from insert several weeks ago = FREE

and Johnsonville breakfast sausage patties were just .79 with Sunday 4/5's coupon.

And finally, from reader Amber (thanks, Amber!):

I haven't seen anyone mention Bumblebee. They didn't actually *have* the things in my store, but a Bumblebee coupon (an old one - maybe early February - I'm sorry I don't remember) has "Prime Filets" $1/1. They were priced at $2 at my store, which would have made them free, had they been in stock.

****************

Adapted from reader Lisa's comments (Thanks, Lisa!):

Melita coffee filters, $1 off 03/01 SS. (Most coffee filters at my store about $1.69 to $1.89.), so, FREE.

Barilla Piccolini, $0.50 off 03/29 SS, 3 for $4 ($1.33), so, FREE.

Dole, $1 off 3 cans; small cans of pineapple $0.80 each, so, after coupon, doubled, $0.40 for three -- still printing Catalinas for $0.75 off your next order for each 4 cans purchased. So, purchase 12 cans, use four $1 off coupons, pay $1.60, get Catalinas back for $2.25 off -- this may be the last day for these Catalinas to print. I got this information from a sign posted at Giant. The Catalinas print at both stores.

Betty Crocker frosting, $1.59, $0.50 off coupon in 4-5 Smart Source, so, $0.09 after coupon triples.

From reader frugalfriends:

(1) Huggies Cucumber & Green Tea Lotion (15 FL OZ) was discounted down to $1.49 in the baby/diapers aisle and I had a Huggies $1 off printable coupon that doubled so this item was FREE!

(2) Maple Grove Farms of Vermont salad dressings were in the "quickly reduced" section and the "Balsamic Vinaigrette w/ Pure Maple Syrup" and "Fat Free Poppyseed Dressing" both 8 oz. were reduced down to $1.09. I found 3 that had large peelies on the front "Get $1 off when you buy 2" so I bought 6 and used 3 of my $1/2 coupons which doubled, and that brought the final price down to $0.09 each!

(3) Turkey Hill Dynamic Duos ice cream, 1.5 qt. is on sale 2/$6 and I had a coupon from a Red Plum insert (unsure of date) for $1 off one, so after double coupons this was only $1!

I also noticed that there were some Karo Syrup products (Karo Brown Sugar) in the "quickly reduced" section but didn't see a price, so I'm going to go back tomorrow and see what the price was and if I should use my $0.40 coupon from a Red Plum insert (expires 4/30/09) which would triple up to $1.20 off the total (so this could be free or at least really cheap!).

I also noticed a KY product in the "quickly reduced" section that I think was $8-$9 (because the package/box had been beaten up a little but was unopened) and I have a $5 off Red Plum coupon that I might use on that (expires 6/30/09).

AND, from Laura of frugalfriends: Capri Suns are $2/pack, FREE after this weekend's $1 coupon! Woohoo!

Reader Holly asked: I noticed that the Kimberly-Clark promotion Spend $20 get $5 isn't in the triple coupon/double coupon promotion store ads only in the store ads that don't offer the triple coupon promotion. Does it still work at those stores?

For example: Manassas is offering the triple coupons and Lorton isn't but Lorton ad is offering the Kimberly-Clark promotion.

Our answer: we're not sure, ourselves. The matchup list was originally typed up on the assumption that besides the missing doubles/triples offer, the ad would be the same. Has anybody pulled off the KC deal in a doubling/tripling store? Let us know by leaving a comment!

Another note from Holly: Cottonelle is 2/$12 (cheaper) at Manassas and with the double coupon it will come out to $4!

*********************
Reader Boo32 had some good finds (Thanks!):
Cacao Reserve by Hershey's Bar is $2.19 use coupon for $1/1 doubled=chocolate bar for $0.19
Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix is $0.89, buy 2 use coupon for $0.75/2 doubled = 2 mixes for $0.28 or $0.14 each.
Bagelfuls are $2.19, use coupon for $1/1, doubled=box of Bagelfulls for $0.19
Reynolds Baking Cups $0.89, use $0.25 coupon tripled = Baking cups for $0.14

I got my Shoppers ad in the mail today and it didn't say anything about the double coupons - ugh! I'm in Fairfax and usually shop at the Chantilly store. Anyone know if any other NoVA stores are participating?

I believe the location tech they use is simply an ultrasonic beacon located over the door and others inside at different departments.Suppose we need to take one SpiritHalloween coupon just we need to logon to coupongrove They probably chirp at some set of frequencies inaudible to the human ear every second or so. Not much good for directing you to products or out the door in an emergency but sufficient (although not likely patentable) for their application. And any phone with a sensitive enough microphone is likely all the HW you need along with their app.Thankyou...
