Are you missing your Red Plum coupon inserts?

Erica at I Heart CVS has scooped on a rather depressing proposition: Red Plum/Valassis will now be direct-mailing its weekly coupon insert to folks' home addresses instead of offering them in the Sunday paper. If you use CVS ECBs or just invest money in multiple copies of Sunday papers in a bid to collect more coupons, this is a big deal.

Read more about it here! Thanks, Erica!

As for Northern Virginia, it looks like a lot of smaller local papers will still have the ads, but that the Washington Post might be dropped. Ack!!!

Does anyone know what smaller newspapers in Northern Virginia carry the inserts?

I was expecting the Red Plum to be gone but I didn't even see the SmartSource in the one I picked up Saturday. Was that just an off thing?

Oh - and also - I bought 5 extra Sunday papers at CVS on Sunday, and all had SS'es, so maybe your paper was a a glitch if it was this past weekend's you're mentioning.

The 2/16 paper did not have any inserts at all.
