I just got wind of a 3-day sale going on at the Giants in Frederickburg, West Fredericksburg, Stafford, and Falmouth. Post a comment to let us know if your Giant was advertising the same specials - and which Giant location(s) apply.
The 3-day sale includes:
- Sweet white corn, 12/$1.99 (cheapest so far this year!)
- Maryland Crab Cakes, 2/$10
- Lobster Tails, $5.99 each.
- Roma Sausage, 1 lb. package, $2.99
- Wild American Gulf Shrimp, $9.99/lb.
- Backfin Crabmeat, 1 lb. container, $9.99
- Quarter Sheet Cake, $9.99
Now, I have a sneaking suspicion that some of these aren't particularly good sale prices and are just designed to move higher-end seafood and party fare. But since I'm not a seafood pricing expert, maybe some of you can tell me whether any of the above are worthwhile prices!
And on a related note: if you're serving crab cakes, lobster tails, and gulf shrimp for Father's Day, how can I get invited to
that shindig? ;-p

Thanks so much! You inspired me to try doing my weekly shopping at Giant for the first time, and I got $56 of groceries for $13 by using your tips. The best part: it was all stuff I really needed, good nutritious food like meat, eggs, cheese, fruits, and veggies.
Corn turned out to be 6, not 12, for $1.99, but that's still good enough. Sabra Hummus was $4.29, and they accepted 2 coupons, making it 2 for $1.29. They also accepted the Oscar Meyer free hotdogs coupon, making 2 packs free, which was great mileage for that coupon.
